Birthday Plans

Well, Laken's first birthday is slowly approaching and I'm still trying to put things in order on how to celebrate. I've seen other mom's and the plans for their ideas to celebrate their baby's birthday's coming up. I have some ideas of what I plan to do during the week of her birthday starting with a new grave side make over. Spring is here and she is long over due for a new look. I'm excited to get to spend the day decrotating her spot and making it beautiful just for her! Next during that week I have plans to drop off some Laken's Bears to donate to the funeral home who handled Laken's service. It just warms my heart to think of those bears being given to parents having to come in to plan the funeral of their child. I want them to know that they are being thought of. I have said it before and I will say it again, I can't express how loving and kind that funeral home is. They too are baby loss parents so perhaps its just that we just understand each other. Third on the list is to have a cake and a small birthday celebration with a balloon relase. Laken's big brother and sister always love to relase balloons for their little sister. It's kind of their thing. What are some of your ideas that you plan to do or have done in remembering your angel with their past or upcoming birthday?

  1. That's funny, we released balloons at the funeral, and mine like to do the same thing.

  2. Releasing balloons has help my 7 yr old understand a little better to where Laken is. He understands shes an angel now and he can write her a note on the balloon. I would love to let them release butterflies for her, I think thats something they would enjoy.

  3. Sounds beautiful... after releasing balloons at Gabrielle's funeral, every time we see a hot air or helium balloon our toddler asks "Is it going to Gabrielle ?" Such a lovely idea to release them for Laken's first birth day xoxo
